On the Stalin’s Soviet Union map as “The Korean deportation”

Sep–Oct 1937 — About 172,000 Koreans, the entire Korean population of the Soviet Far East, were deported by the NKVD to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The authorities used the possibility that Koreans might spy for Japan as a pretext. This was the first deportation of a whole nationality.
