Terms & Refunds
Short version: one plan opens every atlas, you can cancel anytime, and if it isn’t what you hoped, thirty days means thirty days.
The deal
Maps of History sells access to its interactive history atlases. The WW2 atlas is free for everyone. One membership opens every atlas in the collection. Personal Annual (£89/year) and every plan above it include the full offline archive — each atlas as a self-contained file delivered by email, together with a member pass that unlocks standing on this site. The Monthly plan (£12.99/month) includes online access to every atlas plus two atlas file downloads per month. The Exam Sprint (£19, one payment) grants eight weeks of access; the full £19 is credited toward Personal Annual on upgrade. The Archive Edition (£249, one payment) is a purchase of the atlases current at the time of purchase, as offline files, and is not a membership: future atlases are not included.
Payments & cancellation
- Payments are processed by Stripe in pounds sterling. Prices are shown at checkout; taxes may apply by region.
- The founding monthly rate is locked for as long as your membership stays active.
- Cancel any recurring plan from any Stripe receipt (“manage subscription”) or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future charges; the current period runs to its end.
- Months already paid on a monthly plan are credited if you switch to an annual or lifetime plan.
30-day refund, in full
If you’re not happy within 30 days of a first purchase — on any plan, recurring or one-time — email hello@mapsofhistory.com and we refund the full amount. No forms, no questions you have to answer. Files already delivered stay yours.
Fair use & licences
Personal plans cover your own use and your household. The Teacher / Homeschool plan (£149/year) additionally covers one teacher’s own classes or one family, including sharing the printables with those students. The School / Department plan (£699/year) covers up to one department’s teachers and their classes at a single school — self-serve, paid by card in one session. Don’t redistribute the files publicly. District-wide or multi-school licensing: write to us.
The content
The maps argue history honestly: borders are simplified, casualty figures are scholarly estimates with uncertainty stated, and the atlases are works of interpretation, provided “as is,” without warranty of fitness for any particular purpose. Cartography is built on Natural Earth (public domain). “IB” references the International Baccalaureate® syllabus for alignment only; Maps of History is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the IB.
Changes
If these terms change materially we’ll say so on this page and, for members, by email. Continued use after a change means acceptance.
