Stalin’s Siberian grain tour (1928)
On the Stalin’s Soviet Union map as “Stalin in Siberia”
Jan–Feb 1928 — In Novosibirsk and the Siberian grain districts, Stalin ordered officials to take grain from peasants who held it back. They used the criminal code’s article against “speculation” to carry out the seizures. This “Ural-Siberian method” brought an end to the bargain of the New Economic Policy and to Stalin’s alliance with Bukharin.
