Women workers of Ivanovo (1930s)

On the Stalin’s Soviet Union map as “Ivanovo”

1930s — Most workers in Ivanovo, the textile city known as the “Russian Manchester”, were women. Across industry, women’s share of jobs rose sharply during the 1930s, while housework, queuing and childcare remained their work too. The decree of June 1936 made this “double burden” heavier.
