Royal Indian Navy mutiny (1946)

On the Indian independence map as “Bombay — the naval mutiny”

18–23 Feb 1946 — Royal Indian Navy ratings struck over pay, food, and insult, and seized 78 ships. The tricolour and the crescent flew together from their mastheads. For London, the mutiny signaled that the Raj could no longer be sure of its sword arm.
