Treaty of Lausanne (1923)

On the WWI map as “The Treaty of Lausanne”

24 Jul 1923 — Turkey signs a new peace at Lausanne. It restores Anatolia and Eastern Thrace, ends the legal privileges foreigners had enjoyed under the sultans, and imposes no reparations. This is the only treaty of the settlement negotiated with a power that has won its own war. Modern Turkey still treats it as its founding charter.
