Congress of Berlin (1878)

On the WWI map as “The Congress of Berlin”

13 Jun–13 Jul 1878 — Bismarck calls himself an “honest broker” as he hosts the powers at Berlin. They reduce the gains Russia has made in its war with the Ottomans: Austria-Hungary may occupy Bosnia, while Britain takes Cyprus through a separate deal. Russia leaves convinced that Germany has taken the other side.
