HMS Dreadnought (1906)

10 Feb 1906 — A new battleship is launched at Portsmouth with ten 12-inch guns and turbine engines. HMS Dreadnought outclasses every older battleship, including Britain’s own. With the existing fleets suddenly less formidable, the naval race begins again from almost level—the opening Tirpitz believed he had found.
