Crête ice core (1974)

On the Norse and Aztecs map as “Crête — Dansgaard’s core”

1974 — On the crest of the Greenland ice sheet, a 404-metre core at Crête gave Willi Dansgaard’s team a record stretching back about 1,400 years. When they compared it with Norse history in 1975, they concluded that climate had strongly affected the Greenland colony.
