Kulak deportations to Kotlas (1930–31)
On the Stalin’s Soviet Union map as “Kotlas”
1930–1931 — Trains carrying deported “kulak” families from Ukraine and the grain regions arrived at Kotlas, where the families were unloaded and sent into the northern forests. There they had to build the settlements in which they would live. Death rates in the first winters were catastrophic, especially among small children.
