Bloody Sunday (1905)

22 Jan 1905 — Workers carry a petition toward the Winter Palace in a peaceful procession. Troops fire on them, killing hundreds. The image of the Tsar as the people's father dies that afternoon. This marker is a memorial, not a battle.
