On the Mao’s China map as “The Gang of Four falls”
6 Oct 1976 — In Beijing, Hua Guofeng and Ye Jianying have Jiang Qing, Zhang Chunqiao, Yao Wenyuan and Wang Hongwen arrested. The four had run Shanghai since 1967; there, their followers distribute weapons to the militia but stand down within a week. The Cultural Revolution was over, though no one yet said so.
