International Tracing Service (1946–48)

On the Refugee crises map as “The tracing service at Arolsen”

1946–48 — Allied searches for missing people are brought together in the small town of Arolsen, where the International Tracing Service is established. Its millions of camp, labor and displaced persons records helped families seek answers for decades. The collection opened to researchers in 2007 and is now the Arolsen Archives.
