Siege of Antioch (1097–98)
On the Crusades map as “The Siege of Antioch”
Oct 1097–Jun 1098 — the crusaders endure eight months of hunger outside Antioch’s walls before taking the city. Within days Kerbogha’s relief army besieges them in turn. The discovery of a relic, the Holy Lance, and disunity among the Muslim forces help turn their near-annihilation into victory.
