Hofstaðir Viking hall (10th century)

On the Norse and Aztecs map as “Hofstaðir”

10th century — Near Lake Mývatn, a chieftain’s hall at Hofstaðir was the setting for great feasts. It is one of the largest Viking-age buildings excavated in Iceland. The excavation shows how, in a land without a king, hospitality, livestock and religious leadership supported a chieftain’s power.
