Battle of Taierzhuang (1938)
On the Chinese Revolution map as “Taierzhuang”
Mar–Apr 1938 — In this canal town, Li Zongren’s regional armies encircled and badly battered two Japanese brigades. China had its first clear victory, a gain in morale worth divisions, and time to trade Xuzhou for the interior. Both sides now had reason to expect a long war.
