Public domain The Newberry Library, Atlas of Historical County Boundaries. State/territory records unioned for the displayed date; disputed/joint territories excluded from exclusive US sovereignty.. Publisher permits commercial and noncommercial lawful reuse without fees; current terms supersede obsolete NC notice in archive Maps of History: regional revolt/campaign footprints are inferred teaching regions, not surveyed fronts or homogeneous control.. Original educational reconstruction using cited datasets and historical evidence Annual source outlines can combine imperial claims with areas of control. The labels identify the historical role selected, while dates finer than the source interval are made explicit in these details.
The US outline follows dated Newberry legal and administrative records. Other, joint and disputed territories are excluded from exclusive US fill. The outline says nothing about Indigenous consent or actual settlement.
Gran Colombia is represented by a proxy combining member footprints. The raw source’s 1824 outline includes Andean campaign areas, which are not treated as sovereign territory.
The earliest published Bolivian national footprint helps answer the 1825 naming question. It is a future-period reference relative to the unchanged December 1824 snapshot label, not a claim that independence had already occurred.
