Signing of the Treaty of Versailles (1919)

On the WWI map as “Versailles”

28 Jun 1919 — Exactly five years after Sarajevo, Germany signs the treaty in the Hall of Mirrors, the room where the German Empire was proclaimed in 1871. Article 231, reparations and disarmament become part of the settlement, along with a League of Nations without America. The treaty remains a subject of argument.
