Famine of One Rabbit (1450–54)

On the Norse and Aztecs map as “The famine of One Rabbit”

1450–54 — Harvests failed across the basin as frosts and floods were followed by drought. In the worst year, One Rabbit (1454), families sold themselves or their children to the Totonacs of the Gulf coast in exchange for maize. Moctezuma I opened the royal granaries. Annals differ in their accounts of the years, including One Rabbit.
