Acuecuexco aqueduct flood (1499–1500)

On the Norse and Aztecs map as “Acuecuexco — the spring that drowned the city”

1499–1500 — Ahuitzotl brought water from the powerful springs of Acuecuexco, on Coyoacán’s border, into Tenochtitlan through a stone channel. He killed the lord of Coyoacán, who had warned against the project. The water flooded the city until divers sealed the springs.
