Battle of Siping (1946)
On the Chinese Revolution map as “Siping”
Apr–May 1946 — Lin Biao tried to hold this rail junction in a conventional battle, and his army lost 40,000 men. The Nationalists took Manchuria’s cities as far as the Sungari, but their advance had reached the end of an 1,800-km supply line. Between their garrisons, the countryside was already turning red.
