Gafsa trials (2008–09)
On the Feminism and the Tunisian Revolution map as “The Gafsa trials”
Dec 2008 – Feb 2009 — A court in Gafsa sentences 38 people to as much as ten years in prison. Among them is Adnane Hajji, a schoolteacher and local union leader. The sentences are cut to eight years on appeal; all are pardoned in November 2009. National media say almost nothing.
