Armistice at Compiègne (1918)
On the WWI map as “The railway carriage”
11 Nov 1918, 05:00 — Germany signs the armistice in Foch’s dining car in the forest of Compiègne. The guns will stop at 11:00. In 1940 Hitler chooses the same carriage for France’s surrender, precisely because of what happened there.
